The causes

neck and cervical pain

There are many causes of neck pain. Most of them are related to the wear and tear of the mechanical structures of the neck with age or in people who put excessive strain on their neck or arm.

We can mention :

  • muscular fatigue,
  • osteoarthritis,
  • Nerve compression

and less frequently :

  • rheumatoid arthritis,
  • meningitis,
  • infections.

Some types
neck pain

Cervicarthrosis

This is cervical osteoarthritis. It is a chronic condition characterized by the degradation of the cartilage of the neck joints. It is frequent and affects mostly women from 35 years old.

The symptoms can be summarized as pain:

At the nape of the neck, the back of the head and the forehead
At the shoulders and arms
The upper back
towards the arm: we speak of cervicobrachial neuralgia

Torticollis

The neck pain is sharp and appears suddenly. Torticollis is most often due to a contracture of a sternocleidomastoidal muscle, of traumatic or inflammatory origin.

Common acute torticollis prevents most neck movements because the contracture and pain are sudden. The condition usually lasts only a few days.

Chiropractic can help you!

In consultation, your chiropractor may suggest an X-ray to determine whether or not the cervical spine is curved without disco-vertebral damage.

The treatment consists of taking painkillers or anti-inflammatories. In any case, a chirorax session will do you a lot of good.

You spend long hours in front of your computer screen or you spend your day driving

The treatments

neck pain

severe lumbar sprain

Your chiropractor will ask you specific questions to determine the cause of the neck pain and whether it extends to other areas of the body or is aggravated by fatigue or other symptoms.

Then comes a rigorous clinical examination and your chiropractor may request medical imaging (CT scan, MRI) or blood tests.

The proposed treatment may be:

Painkillers,
corticosteroid injections
A surgical operation
Neck strengthening sessions

Cervical adjustment,
an effective and safe treatment!

The chiropractic treatment used to treat people with neck pain, is effective, safe and based on a thorough understanding of current scientific research.

It is through a technique called "cervical adjustment" or "cervical manipulation" that the chiropractor can help you reduce your pain.

Our cervical adjustments are safe

This technique, which consists of precise manipulation of the cervical region, is a specialty of the chiropractor.

Its function is to restore range of motion and promote mobility of adjacent muscles.

It relieves pain, discomfort and disability. The treatment also has the beneficial effect of improving the strength of your neck, thus avoiding possible relapses.

WARNING !

If you experience these symptoms see your chiropractor.
