Neck pain or Torticollis

The Acute Torticollis

What's this?

This type of neck pain often appears following a minor accident or is caused by rheumatism that causes joint inflammation or results from the displacement of a vertebra. An X-ray of the neck will help identify the nature of your problem. Normally, it often appears in the morning, upon waking up, or suddenly during the day, after an effort that contracts the neck muscles. People who suffer from this type of torticollis can hardly move their head without feeling a sharp pain.

Acute torticollis can also be caused by micro-lesions on the facet joints of the cervical vertebrae.
These micro-lesions produce an inflammation that irritates the nerves, during a false movement, which causes painful muscle contractions in the neck.

Torticollis Spasmodica

What's this?

People with spasmodic torticollis are subject to involuntary muscle contractions of the neck that cause irrepressible movements of rotation and tilt of the head.

Torticollis is an affection of the neck, responsible for a muscular pain, accompanied by a torsion of the neck with inclination of the head, which limits its movement.

The torticollis is an affection of the neck.

This neck pain is responsible for a muscular pain.
