Tendonitis, bursitis and epicondylitis

Bursitis

Bursitis of the wrist, shoulder or knee is an inflammation of the bursa.

These are small sacs that contain a viscous fluid, the synovium, occurs during:

or repeated rubbing

These small sacs of synovium allow muscles, bones and ligaments to move without colliding with each other. They prevent friction that could occur between them and produce irritation.
When a bursa is inflamed, you will experience severe pain that can be accentuated by certain movements if they produce friction on the affected bursa. Such inflammation can be considered acute or chronic depending on the case.

Shoulder bursitis is the best known, because it is the most frequent.

Tendinitis

Tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendona tough fibrous substance that attaches the muscle, usually to a bone.

This inflammation occurs during: 

with a sudden and abrupt movement
of a repetitive gesture
or by crushing effect

Epicondylitis is an inflammation of the tendon attachment points in the elbow.
